This Sunday's theme for our Going Home sermon series is "Family Meal." The risen Jesus shows up on the shore while the disciples are finishing up a discouraging night of fishing. They get out of the boat to discover that Jesus has a fire going. He is grilling fish and has bread ready to eat. I bet that was some of the best fish they ever tasted. It's pretty simple. The disciples have needs, and Jesus is taking care of them. They're hungry, so he feeds him. As if rising from the dead in victory wasn't enough. Jesus' love is always over the top. Each Sunday Jesus calls out to us from the shore after we've had a discouraging week of failure, weakness, and guilt. He has a meal ready for us, a meal of forgiveness and hope. It's pretty simple. We have needs, and Jesus takes care of them. Our souls are hungry, so Jesus feeds us with promises made and kept. His resurrection will always be enough for us, and his love continues to be over the top. Let's never stop gathering as a family for the meal our Savior has prepared for us. That will give us the energy to keep going until we sit around a glorious table in heaven and celebrate the feast of final victory.

"If you do not forgive them (someone's sins) they are not forgiven." At a glance, these words sound harsh and unloving, but this couldn't be further from the truth! Jesus gives his church the ability to forgive and not forgive sins. This in known as the "Ministry of the Keys." The Keys are used in two ways. 1) They give relief to the one who is burdened under the guilt of their sins. 2) They also serve as a loving warning to the unrepentant sinner. Both usages point us back to the cross where we see sin destroyed. Worship times are 8:30 and 11:00
When a loving family adopts a child in need, it can be one of the most beautiful events here on earth. The child desperately needed a home, and, now, through an act of love, they have one. This Sunday we begin a new sermon series called "Going Home." We'll follow Jesus and his disciples in the weeks after his resurrection. We'll hear Jesus teach them about the wonderful home he has just opened up for them through his life, death, and resurrection. He has unlocked the doors of heaven and he gives the disciples the keys! Over the next six weeks, this "Going Home" series will give us a chance to consider how God builds us all into an unlikely family of adopted children walking toward our real home. Join us on Sunday!

Historically, the church has used the picture of a butterfly to symbolize the resurrection. While a caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly is remarkable, today; Jesus did something even more splendid. With supreme power, Jesus burst from his tomb bringing life to those once spiritually dead. Jesus has restored our shattered relationship with God. What a mighty act! Join us as we gather around the empty tomb in awe, confessing the hope we have in our RISEN Lord. Service times are 7:15, 8:30, and 11:00
The Good Shepherd lays down his life for sheep that love to wander. Why is Jesus willing to undergo such pain and mistreatment? Why is Jesus willing to be forsaken by his own Father? Jesus endured the punishment of our sins to bring us peace and healing. Service time is 7:00

Yesterday we celebrated the Confirmation of thirteen young men and women. They were each asked to write a short speech on their Confirmation verse and they delivered these speeches during the Bible study hour. Here you'll find excerpts from each of them. You should definitely check out their wonderful confessions of faith. God is so good!
Why did Jesus ride into Jerusalem? He did not go for the praise or recognition. The cross was Jesus' destination and goal. Today, we will hear about the great love of our Great King as he entered Jerusalem determined to lay down his life for us. Service times are 8:30 and 11:00.
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, and thirteen of the young people in our church family will make powerful promises about continuing to grow in grace for the rest of their time on earth. Palm Sunday is a wonderful day for Confirmation because it puts the confirmands' anxieties into perspective. Grades, success, the future? Yes, they should work hard at everything they do, but they can understand that their success and their future are both centered on Palm Sunday and Holy Week. Ultimately it doesn’t matter whether they get accepted or rejected from their dream college or dream job. They have already won in Christ through his cross and empty tomb. That may not seem like a huge deal now, but it can be a huge help later when they inevitably battle disappointment or tragedy. These thirteen young people can shout in the face of frustration, in the face of their spiritual enemies, in the face of the grave itself! Because Palm Sunday means that Jesus has come to make them a champion. When they face the stress and anxiety that so many people their age face, they have a peace that the world can neither give nor take away from them. It’s the peace of knowing their king is always with them. It’s the peace of knowing one day the shouts to Jesus will once more be raised, on the day that Jesus returns. Then it will no longer take faith to believe in him. Instead we will see our king coming to us, righteous and victorious, no longer in humility but in glory. May God bless these thirteen young sons and daughters of our King. May He keep them close to Him through His Word and give them peace!

Thank you, God, for the season of spring!
Sometimes we can become so concerned with how we do something, we forget why we are doing it. This is formalism. The devil tempts us into being consumed by how we worship and keeps us from putting our hearts in the right place. Today our Lord will encourage us to give up this formalism and also show us His amazing love. Service times are at 8:30 and 11.
